Beat Hollow "won" his public Vodafone Derby workout with stablemate Wellbeing at Yarmouth today.
Coral and William Hill clipped Beat Hollow a point to 4-1 and 5-1 respectively for Epsom, but he remains 6-1 with Ladbrokes following the exercise over 11 furlongs.
Wellbeing has been pushed out to 14-1 with the "Big Three".
Afterwards trainer Henry Cecil expressed his delight and stated that both colts were "on course at the moment provided we don't get any more setbacks".
Stable jockey Richard Quinn partnered Beat Hollow, with Willie Ryan on Wellbeing, while Sandmason, who acted as pacemaker, was partnered by Tony McGlone.
Sandmason led Wellbeing and Beat Hollow in single file before quickening the tempo once in line for home.
Wellbeing ranged upsides the leader approaching the three-furlong marker but the move was covered by Beat Hollow who eased into the lead with well over a quarter of a mile to go.
Quinn let Beat Hollow quicken clear and was able to ease down well before the line, finishing around a length clear of the other two, who came home together.
Cecil, who stated beforehand that he "did not want any messing about" observed: "It told us quite a bit. That Wellbeing needs a stronger gallop and Beat Hollow might have a better turn of foot.
"It was good work but maybe Wellbeing could have done with a stronger gallop which he will get in the Derby."
Beat Hollow and Wellbeing, both sons of Sadler's Wells, missed vital work and their intended prep races due to mucus on their lungs, but Cecil expressed himself totally happy with their condition.
He said: "They've had a very normal blow. They've enjoyed it and haven't coughed and are not distressed. On Saturday they'll split up and do a bit on the Round Gallop.
"I love the way they've behaved in the paddock today. They'd been silly and colty before but that was because they hadn't had the experience.
"We've still got a little bit of a way to go but what's happened today is going to help and bring them on. And I liked the way Beat Hollow quickened."
Cecil could not give any indication as to riding arrangements at Epsom and nor could his stable jockey.
Quinn said: "I was very pleased with the colt. He's in good order. They are three nice types of horses and the gun wasn't put to their heads today."
Ian Balding reports Kingsclere on target for the Derby despite a performance that "went OK but not brilliant" in a gallop this morning under big-race pilot Olivier Peslier.
"He didn't come clear of his galloping companions as I had hoped he would but Olivier was happy enough with him," Balding said.
"He was a bit keen early on and I don't think they went fast enough for him.
"But he's in good form and he'll go to Epsom."
However Michael Jarvis today decided to aim Holding Court at Sunday's Emirates Airlines Prix du Jockey-Club rather than the Derby six days later.
He will supplement the colt for the French race at a cost of around £25,000 tomorrow as he reckons the three-year-old will prove more effective at Chantilly than Epsom.
Holding Court entered the Classic picture with victory in the Group Three Prix la Force at Longchamp a fortnight ago.
His trainer said: "He will go to France.
"He travelled over well when he ran there before, and I am not saying that France is an easier option but I think the track will suit him better.
"He is a big, tall, gangly colt with a long stride and not an obvious horse to be suited by Epsom."
