HODGSON `COMFORTABLE`

Jockey Kevin Hodgson was reported to be 'comfortable' in York And District Hospital today following an horrific fall at York.

The Malton-based freelance was thrown from the Bill Tinning-trained Righty Ho in the straight about four furlongs from the finish of a mile-and-a-quarter claimer after his mount clipped the heels of Diamond Flame.

He appeared to be kicked by some of the other runners and lay on the ground for some time receiving treatment before being loaded onto a stretcher and taken off the course in an ambulance to hospital.

Conscious throughout, Hodgson is believed to have sustained head and back injuries but is not thought to be seriously hurt.
