HILLS HOPEFUL FOR GHAYETH

Richard Hills is hopeful of a big run from Ghayth in the #130,000 Group One Middle Park Stakes at Newmarket tomorrow.

The Sir Michael Stoute-trained colt drops back to six furlongs after dead-heating for third place when favourite for thehorsesmouth.co.uk Champagne Stakes three weeks ago.

He was only beaten a length and a half by the winner Noverre in the Group Two contest over seven furlongs at Doncaster.

'I felt that the ground was on the fast side at Doncaster and I was always travelling well and when I went to ask him to pick up he just hung a little bit left with me _ that`s an indication that he probably was feeling it,' Hills told the Racing Channel.

'We`ve brought him back to six furlongs now. He`s out of a very fast mare, so he`s got a big chance tomorrow.'

It was at this distance that Ghayth had been an impressive winner of the Moorestyle Convivial Maiden Stakes at York last month.

And Hills is not worried about the possibility of soft ground should the forecast rain alter the going which is currently described as good.

'Certainly he won`t worry about it all, he`s by Sadler`s Wells. I think he`ll run a big race.'
