Luzcadou looks set to miss the Racing Post Chase on Saturday, it was revealed today.
Drying ground at Kempton Park means the seven-year-old, a 14-1 shot for the £75,000 contest with Ladbrokes, will instead switch to the Greens Health And Fitness Handicap Chase at Haydock Park the same day.
Trainer Micky Hammond said: "Luzcadou probably goes to Haydock.
"It looks as if the ground is drying up a little bit at Kempton and he'll certainly handle the soft or heavy ground at Haydock without much difficulty."
The French-bred has won both his starts in Britain over fences at Ayr, scoring on heavy going last time.
"I wouldn't say he'd want it as heavy as that but he certainly does handle cut in the ground," Hammond added.
The trainer will also send Deep Water, winner of the Glenlivet Hurdle at Aintree in 1998, for the Village Leisure Hurdle at the Merseyside track.
