HAMMOND GETS SAUVIGNON BOOST

Top French hurdler Le Sauvignon will be trained by Micky Hammond next season, it was revealed today.

The six-year-old, who has won four of his eight starts for trainer Jehan Bertran de Balanda, will join Hammond after running in the Martell Aintree Hurdle on Saturday and the French Champion Hurdle (Grande Course de Haies) at Auteuil in June.

Hammond said: "He'll arrive here some time in the summer I should think and he'll go chasing when he comes to me."

Le Sauvignon is owned by Yorkshire-based businessman David Jackson who already has horses with Hammond and also with Mary Reveley.
