HAMILTON BAN REDUCED

Amateur Brian Hamilton had a non-trying ban reduced today on appeal.

The Northern-based jockey had been handed a 21-day suspension following the running of Third Agenda in the Clonskeagh QR Maiden at Leopardstown on June 5th.

The ban was reduced to 14 days however the Appeals and Referrals Committtee confirmed that the horse would be ruled out for 42 days. Permit holder Cathal McCarthy had his £1,000 fine halved.

In other business today the Committee fined permit-holder Seamus O'Farrell £250 for the unauthorised presence of a Mr B Malone in the stable yard.

The Stable Security Officer lodged a complaint after Mr Malone claimed to be involved in the ownership of Private Placement - which is under the care of O'Farrell.
