Jockey Greg Hall's dream of riding in a British Classic will come true tomorrow when he partners Millenium Moonbeam for trainer Mark Pitman in the Sagitta 2000 Guineas at Newmarket.
The Australian, who has ridden over 200 Group race winners, is fulfilling his ambition of riding in Britain this season and partnered his first winner at Nottingham on Easter Monday.
And his ride in the Guineas will be the highlight of his stay so far.
Hall said today: "It's fantastic, it's quite extraordinary.
"My agent Dave Pollington got me the ride and I found out yesterday morning.
"I've ridden two winners over here and to have a ride in a Classic _ if I walked away tomorrow I'd be more than happy with the ways things have gone."
This may be Hall's first Classic ride in Britain but he has a host of big wins to his name in Australia, including the 1992 Melbourne Cup.
"I've been very fortunate in my own country," Hall said.
"I've ridden a Melbourne Cup winner, two Cox Plate winners, two Golden Slipper winners and the winners of two AJC Derbys and two VRC Derbys.
"I don't expect that to happen here, I'm just very glad to be given the ride. I didn't in my wildest dreams think that I'd get a ride in a Classic.
"It's not an easy thing to do - there are plenty of boys over here who don't have a ride - and it's nice to be regarded as one of the best jockeys."
Millenium Moonbeam, a winner at Salisbury and fourth in the ntl Two-Year-Old Trophy at Redcar in 1999, has yet to run this season and Hall has never sat on the colt.
He added: "It's nice to have a sit on a horse but I'm a professional and people expect me to be able to do my job.
"I've had a look at his form and I'll have a good chat with his trainer."
Millenium Moonbeam is a 66-1 chance for the race with Ladbrokes.
