HAGGAS EDGING TOWARDS HANDICAP OPTION

Trainer William Haggas is leaning towards running Zilarator in the Tote Scoop6 November Handicap at Doncaster on Saturday.

The four-year has top weight in the last big race of the Flat season but has an alternative engagement in the Listed CIU Serlby Stakes on the same card.

Haggas said today: 'I`m planning to go for the November Handicap.

'I`ll only change my mind if Island Sound or Boreas don`t run in the Serlby Stakes, if those two run we can`t beat them.'

The going at Town Moor is described as soft, heavy in places, which would suit the mudlark who won the Great Metropolitan Handicap at Epsom in April on heavy ground.

'He loves the soft, it can`t be heavy enough for him,' Haggas added.

'However, as much as he loves the soft that`s going to anchor him with the weight. But I`ve got to be hopeful.'

Zilarator is a 16-1 chance for the November Handicap with Ladbrokes.

A stable spokeswoman for trainer Luca Cumani described Boreas as a 'very likely runnerat the moment' in the Listed race.

And connections of Island Sound said the gelding was also an intended runner unless the ground became heavy.
