Superstar Leo returned to Newmarket this morning following her tremendous run in Sunday`s Prix de l`Abbaye with trainer William Haggas hoping she will stay in his stable next season.
Ridden by Michael Hills, she was in front at halfway in the Group One five-furlong dash at Longchamp and then kept on gamely to finish a clear second after being headed by the winner Namid over a furlong out.
Haggas was unable to go to France as he had promised to take his son Sam to watch Arsenal play Manchester United, but he said: 'Fortunately the owner of Rendition has a box at the ground and we were able to watch the racing from Longchamp on BBC television and they covered it very well.
'I would have obviously preferred to have been in France, but it was the next best thing and we had two great results with Superstar Leo running so well and Arsenal winning.'
Superstar Leo was part-bred by Haggas`s father-in-law Lester Piggott who also had a share in the Superstar Leo Partnership which owned her before she was sold to Pennsylvania-based Lael Stable.
Her record this season makes her a serious contender for the billing of top juvenile filly and Haggas went on: 'It was a fantastic run from her and I was absolutely thrilled with her.
'She arrived back home this morning and they are happy with her but that is it for the season.
'I honestly don`t know what is going to happen next season, whether she is going to America or not, but obviously we would love her to stay here.'
