Grand Cru arrived late to sink the sixth consecutive favourite of the evening at Wexford today, winning the Owenduff Handicap (div 2), under Bill Lee.
Lee eventually managed to forced the son of Bahri’s head in front at the line to deny 2/1f Sounds Of Thunder
Afterwards winning trainer Eoin Doyle, whose horses are hitting form ahead of the summer months, stated “Grand Cru is owned by my wife Gemma Murphy and will mix if between Flat and hurdles for the summer.”
“He wants fast ground and has been working well at home. We may go to Tramore in a few weeks time for a handicap hurdle.”
