The Kieran Purcell trained Goodtime Boy took the opening, Follow LRC On Facebook Maiden Hurdle, under Adam O’Neill.
The 4yo son of Catcher In The Rye ran well on his penultimate start over the course and distance to finish fourth behind Bullet Street.
He disappointed on his next start at Thurles and was sent off at 7/1 this afternoon.
Third at the third last, he stayed on best under pressure to lead in the closing stages and win by two and a half lengths at the line.
The Edward O’Grady trained Time Please finished second at 5/2 under Paddy Mangan while Glazier was a further two and a half lengths back in third under Pat Kennedy for Eugene O’Sullivan at 14/1. Patriots Vision was sent off the 9/4 favourite for Mary Louise Hallahan and Rob Jones but he could only manage a disappointing sixth.
Kieran Purcell said afterwards: "I thought he wanted it like the road. He is a lovely horse and he will go for a little handicap next."
