Good Deal delights Magee in Fairyhouse Good Deal saw off all comers in the bumper at Fairyhouse to spring a 20/1 shock. Drop A Threat, the 11/10 favourite, disappointed when he weakened quickly in third entering the straight. Good Deal was still boxing away at the front and found for Eoghan Finegan as they saw off a staying-on Largy Belter (8/1) by a length. Passenger also kept on to be a never nearer third at 13/2. Patrick Magee said: "I thought he was impressive. He’s been off the track for a while and hasn’t been on grass or anything. I thought he’d need the run. "Eoghan gave him a lovely ride, he got it easy enough in front and quickened well off the bend. “He had the form, but had just been off the track for a while. He’s nearly 17 hands, he just had two runs and we let him off. “We were coming here hoping for a nice first run and maybe win the next day. “I’d say he’ll be sold, if not he could go for a winners' bumper.” The winner certainly didn't go unbacked having been available at 80/1 this morning.
