In the run-up to next week's big meeting at Galway, good ground, or slightly quicker than that, prevails at most of this week's racing venues.

Naas hosts a seven race Flat card on Wednesday evening with the ground now good, good to firm in places after a drying day yesterday. Selective watering is taking place at the track.

Leopardstown race on Thursday evening and likewise their going description is good, good to firm in places.

Limerick also race on Thursday, with a National Hunt card, and the ground there is good with watering under way.

The weather forecast for the next couple of days is for warm and mostly dry conditions.

Down Royal, on the flat, and Wexford (N.H.) both race on Friday evening, and the going at the latter is good, with watering continuing to take place. It's a mainly dry weather forecast there as well, but with a chance of some showers.

Gowran Park race on the Flat on Saturday, and a blank Sunday is the traditional calm before the storm until the seven days of action at Ballybrit begin on Monday.

After plenty of rain at the weekend, the ground at Galway has begun to dry out again and it's currently good (N.H.) and good to yielding on the Flat. The weather forecast out West is for a dry day, with some possible showers overnight.
