The Stuart Crawford trained Gilt Shadow is on target for a crack at the Grade 1 Punchestown Bumper next Wednesday.

The son of Beneficial won on debut at Down Royal in November before finishing fourth in a Grade 2 bumper at Navan and his rider on both occasions Stephen Crawford, brother and assistant to the trainer, today stated “he (Gilt Shadow) is going really well and we're hopeful of a good run.

“There are a lot of really nice horses in the race but he was just six lengths behind Union Dues at Navan and was a bit unlucky not to have finished third. He is a proper chaser in the making though and anything he does in bumpers will be a bonus.”
