Wednesday sees one of the feature races of this years Galway festival, the Galway Plate, take place at 7.10.

Clerk of the Course Lorcan Wyer issued the following going update: "Our going remains good, good to yielding in places for National Hunt and yielding flat ground.

"Weather wise, yesterday was a good day but the winds were light and we felt it held onto the moisture quite well. We are doing minimal selective watering this morning. Again, certain places, just trying to keep the moisture in the ground.

"The weather forecast between now and Friday looks generally mild and dry. There is a chance of maybe a very light shower Wednesday, Thursday. Little bit of a change on Friday. Seems to be a band of rain moving through quite quickly, amounts 4-5mm ballpark area but it looks like it will be clear for racing and dry for racing on Friday evening.
