Bobby Grant is unlikely to run in the Hennessy Cognac Gold Cup at Newbury on Saturday week, it emerged today.
Peter Beaumont`s nine-year-old finished a well-beaten fifth behind Kingsmark under 11st 12lb in the Edward Hanmer Memorial Chase at Haydock Park on Saturday after weakening in the home straight.

However, the Brandsby trainer today said: 'He ran all right but he had a hell of a lot of weight on bad ground.
'I don`t know where he`ll go next but he`s very doubtful for the Hennessy with him being near the top of the handicap.'
Beaumont also had news of Young Kenny, who bids for the Tote Becher Chase at Aintree on Saturday.
'Touch wood everything is OK with Kenny,' he added.
