GRAND SORT ON OFFER

A yearling half-brother to Derby-winning stallion Grand Lodge - by champion sire Sadler's Wells - is to be sold at September's Tattersalls Houghton Sale, it was announced today.

The colt will be one of seven sold this autumn from the late Lord Howard de Walden's Plantation Stud.

Leslie Harrison, racing manager to Lady Howard de Walden, said: "This will be the first time we have ever sold yearlings on a commercial basis and in many ways it is sad to do so. But we have seven very smart colts to offer.

"The Sadler's Wells half-brother to Grand Lodge has always been an attractive colt and Sinndar's win in the Derby can only add further to his appeal.

"He will be our only Houghton yearling, with the remaining six colts selling at the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale."
