The Friday Man (4/1) registered a fifth career success at Tramore today, as the Gordon Elliott-trained gelding landed the dramatic Tramore Racecourse Directors Beginners Chase under champion jockey Jack Kennedy.

Rated 111, The Friday Man carried recent form-figures of 'P8PP' into today's race and while he inherited the lead through the fall of 9/4 favourite Iris Emery at the second-last, was travelling well at that point and scored comfortably from staying-on Shajak

Kennedy commented “we were riding him to finish out his race because he hadn’t been doing so, but it all fell into place for him. He jumped fairly carefully early-on but warmed into it nicely.

“We were helped with the faller (Iris Emery) at the second-last but I felt like I had her covered.”
