Richard Johnson will ride as a freelance jockey next jumps season but primarily for trainers Philip Hobbs, Henry Daly and Alan King.
But the rider stressed that he would also maintain his association with Looks Like Trouble, trained by Noel Chance, who he steered to victory in the Gold Cup last month.
"Basically I am freelance for next jumps season and I hope to be able to ride the best horses available at the yards of all three trainers," said Johnson who has ridden 143 winners this term.
Johnson was not retained at Jackdaw's Castle by David Nicholson and latterly Alan King but he rode principally for the yard this season and hopes that tie-up can continue when Richard Phillips takes over at the stable in June.
"When availability allows I hope to ride for Richard and I will continue to ride out at Jackdaw's Castle but now I can spread myself around instead of being bound to one yard," he said.
Johnson's link with Hobbs's 85-strong Minehead stable will give the jockey more ammunition as he seeks to beat Tony McCoy in the race for the title.
"I haven't really had a yard to ride for with the quantity of horses but with Mr Hobbs it means that I will have quantity as well as quality and that's important in terms of any chance I have of toppling Tony from his perch," he said.
"Mr Hobbs had two winners at Aintree with Phardante Flyer and Lord Brex and also Whats Up Boys won at the Cheltenham Festival so he has some very nice horses and I hope our new link works out for all concerned.
"Obviously I will carry on riding as I have been for Henry Daly who also has some nice horses such as Edmond on whom I won the Welsh National and Behrajan who is a nice young horse with a future when the ground is soft."
Johnson is also looking forward to riding Gold Cup hero Looks Like Trouble in all his races next term.
"All three of the trainers I will be riding for are well aware that I partner Looks Like Trouble in all his races next term wherever he runs and that will not be a problem," he said.
