Frankie Dettori's long-awaited return to the saddle is by no means certain to take place next week.
The jockey's agent Andrew Stringer admitted today it was only an even-money chance that the Italian would be riding at Glorious Goodwood.
'Nothing is set in stone at the moment on a date for Frankie's return,' he said.
'I know a lot of people have said he will be riding at Goodwood but I would say the chances of him riding there are only 50-50.'
Dettori has been out of action since breaking his ankle in a fatal aircraft accident at the end of May that claimed the life of the pilot.
The Italian's colleague Ray Cochrane, who was also injured in the accident, has recently begun race riding again.
The absence of the charismatic Dettori has created a void in a Flat racing campaign that also been marred by the long-term injury sustained by the champion Kieren Fallon at Royal Ascot.
'Frankie wants to get back as soon as possible,' said Stringer. 'He loves what he does and all the public love watching him.
'But Frankie has given no indication to me when he wants to start again.
'It must be remembered that he only started riding out again on Monday. At the moment he's just trying to build up his level of fitness.
'He has put on a little weight during his time off but he has been watching the weight and that's not a problem.
'It might be a problem if somebody wanted him to ride at 8st 6lb but that's not going to happen to begin with as he's not going to come back with a full book of rides.
'I hope we will see Frankie again very soon but nobody's going to put pressure on him. If there's any pressure it comes from Frankie himself.'
Encouraging the jockey in his comeback is the incentive of partnering Dubai Millennium in his next race.
The Godolphin superstar is set to miss next Wednesday's Champagne Lanson Sussex Stakes at Goodwood, leaving Dettori with a little more time to ready himself.
A possible engagement for Dubai Millennium now is the Prix Jacques le Marois at Deauville on August 13.
'If that is the next race for Dubai Millennium, I'm sure Frankie will be ready to partner the horse,' said Stringer.
'But I don't think it's a question of Frankie timing his comeback to ride that horse. There are plenty of other good ones for him to ride as well.'
