Superstar Leo will revert to five furlongs for her next race in the Polypipe PLC Flying Childers Stakes at the Doncaster St Leger meeting, it was revealed today.
The William Haggas-trained two-year-old had won four of her five starts over the minimum trip, including the Norfolk Stakes at Royal Ascot and the Weatherbys Super Sprint at Newbury, before being stepped up to six furlongs in last Sunday`s Independent Heinz 57 Phoenix Stakes.
The daughter of College Chapel finished a five-length second to Minardi at Leopardstown and the trainer`s wife Maureen told the Racing Channel that the filly has taken her trip to Ireland well.
She said: 'She`s come out of the race really well. She hasn`t left an oat since she`s been back.
'We were thrilled to bits with her - she ran a great race, probably beaten by a very good horse although she didn`t really get the trip.
'You can never make firm plans but all being well she`ll go for the Flying Childers at Doncaster.'
