Mark Pitman, who took the 1991 Gold Cup as a jockey on Garrison Savannah, saddles Hennessy winner Ever Blessed in this year's race.

The rapidly improving The Last Fling and Dorans Pride, third in 1997 and 1998, have also had their entries confirmed for the #280,000 contest which is run over an extended three and a quarter miles.

The remaining entries for Thursday's highlight are Escartefigue, Lake Kariba, Rince Ri, Senor El Betrutti, Spendid, Strong Promise (second to Cool Dawn in 1998) and Tullymurry Toff.
