Trainer Tim Easterby is hoping to make a cross-Channel raid this October having entered the highly-regarded French Fellow in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe-Lucien Barriere at Longchamp.
French Fellow finished unplaced in the Sagitta 2000 Guineas at Newmarket earlier this month, the ground having dried up too much for him, and he later twisted a plate and pulled a piece of his foot away.
But Easterby said today: "He is all right now and in very good form but we have eased back on him a little, he had been on the go all winter because we wanted to get him ready early.
"We don't have any specific plans at the moment - everything will depend on where we get some cut in the ground - but we have put him in the Arc."
Following the 2000 Guineas Easterby had hinted that he would step the colt up in trip and he added: "I think he will stay and get the mile and a half at Longchamp, he is a very good horse.
"Let's hope he proves good enough to go there."
