Feels Like Gold is set to take on Young Kenny in the De Vere Gold Cup at Haydock Park on Saturday.
Nicky Richards' charge won the Tote Becher Chase on his seasonal reappearance at Aintree in November but was pulled up on his next run in the Coral Welsh National at Chepstow before finishing third to Bobby Grant at Haydock last month.
"He's fine and all being well he'll go to Haydock," Richards said today. "Tony Dobbin is going to ride him.
"It's a good race, there are some pretty good stayers in it but you'd expect that for such good prize money.
"Young Kenny is a very good horse but he's got to give a bit of weight away _ it will be a very interesting race.
"I hope he gets well up amongst the prize money, it would be great if he could win it, but hopefully he'll give a good account of himself."
Saturday's contest will be the gelding's last run before he has another crack at the Martell Grand National, a race in which he finished fifth last season.
"He won't run again after Saturday," Richards added. "He's run well twice at Aintree and he seems to enjoy it there."
