FALLON LOOKING FOR WINNING START

Champion jockey Kieren Fallon is hopeful he can get his Royal Ascot meeting off to a flying start tomorrow with plum rides in all six races.

The 11-8 favourite with Coral to claim the Daily Telegraph Trophy as the meeting's top rider, Fallon today admitted to the Racing Channel: 'I've got some very good rides tomorrow - it could be my strongest day.'

Rudi's Pet looks set to go off favourite for the King's Stand Stakes after showing rapid improvement since arriving at David Nicholls' stable last season where he started in handicaps before graduating to Pattern company.

Fallon said: 'I won some nice races on him last year.

'He missed out in Dubai this spring through injury but he's come back and won well when he wasn't 100% in Ireland. He's a horse that they all have to beat.'

The Irishman rides outsider Medicean in the St James's Palace Stakes but is hopeful of a bold showing from Sir Michael Stoute's charge.

'Whether he'll be good enough or not remains to be seen,' he said.

'He's got a nice draw and I should be able to run a nice race round Ascot. He is an improving horse.'

Stablemate Kalanisi takes his chance in the opening Queen Anne Stakes.

Fallon revealed: 'He's had a lot of niggling problems all his life.

'He came back in a Listed race at Windsor and just got touched off by a short-head and he's been working nicely.'

Fallon went on: 'National Anthem runs in the last race (Duke of Edinburgh Stakes) and he is going nicely at home with some better horses.

'Daliapour's brother (Dalampour, Queen's Vase) should stay well - he's a horse that is improving all the time.'

He also partners Taras Emperor for John Quinn in the Coventry Stakes.
