Champion jockey Kieren Fallon received neck and shoulder injuries when his mount came crashing down in a four-horse pile-up at the Royal Ascot meeting today.
'He has been taken to hospital with injuries to his neck and shoulders,' a racecourse spokesman said after the spectacular crash in the last race of the day.
Fallon, who was in superlative form and had already ridden four winners on the first two days of the meeting, was aboard Alhawa.
He and two other horses were brought down when Praire Falcon, ridden by Michael Hills, slipped on the bend coming into the final straight of the Ascot Stakes, Wednesday's final race.
