Davy Condon soon had his mount in the lead and he found another gear after the last to pull away for a convincing four-and-a-half length success over Chicago Vic.
'I'm happy with that and if I could find another similar type of race for him I would be delighted,' said Mullins.
'He could run in the (Listed Wilf Dooly) chase at Tramore on New Year's Day. He's in the Lexus but won't run there.'
The most impressive performance of the day came from Barker in the two mile handicap hurdle.
Martin Mooney's mount arrived swinging in the straight and went on at the last for an effortless nine-length success.
'He has an entry for the Pierse Hurdle and that's the plan,' said trainer James Barrett afterwards.
'I had thought about going chasing with him but when he won so well at Clonmel I put him in the Pierse. He needs to go up 14lb to get in off bottom weight.'
Noel Meade and Paul Carberry teamed up in the opener when Right Or Wrong got off the mark over hurdles.
The gelding battled well down the straight when challenged by Dani California in the juvenile maiden and came home a length-and-a-half victor over Beau Michael, who ran on again late after cutting out the running.
'A combination of two factors brought about the improvement. One was the ground, the softer the better for him, and I also put a tongue tie on him,' revealed Meade.

The concluding bumper looked a decent contest and Rock Steady finished strongly under David Roche to score by three lengths from Themoonandsixpence.
'He's for sale if anyone is interested,' revealed winning trainer Henry de Bromhead. 'Davy gave him a lovely ride, dropped him in and got him settled. He has loads of gears.'
