Richard Fahey is dreaming of success in the Tote Ebor Handicap with the horse he secured for a bargain 10,000 guineas last September.
Inch Perfect has won seven times since Fahey bought the horse after a victory in a Redcar seller.
Any doubts about the five-year-old's staying power over one and a three-quarter miles were firmly dispelled as he landed the Shepherd Rated Handicap at York.
'It has to be the Ebor now - he's shown that he stays well enough by winning here,' said Fahey.
Inch Perfect has climbed 39lb in the ratings since he was bought by Fahey out of James Hetherton's yard.
'I think we were lucky to get this horse at just the right time,' said the trainer. 'He's done remarkably well and it was probably just a slow gallop that got him beat at Redcar last time.
'If he keeps on like this he might just see a hurdle or two this winter.'
Indian Spark is on target for another crack at Royal Ascot's Wokingham Handicap after securing back-to-back victories in the Blue Bicycle Rated Handicap.
The six-year-old, trained near Glasgow by Jim Goldie, won in some style, pulling clear in the final furlong to defeat Kayo by four lengths.
'He was even more impressive than last time if anything and should go to Ascot now,' said Goldie's son, also Jim.
'We were slightly worried about the drying ground but he has run well on fast before and it's probably not that firm anyway.'
Henry Hall capitalised after three late defections reduced the field to 19 runners in the Anthony Fawcett Memorial Handicap.
The 10-1 chance, ridden by Kim Tinkler, took over from the favourite Further Outlook with a furlong to travel and kept on well to defeat the sponsors' runner Double Oscar.
'This is his first win since his juvenile days but the handicapper had just given him a chance,' said trainer Nigel Tinkler, the husband of the jockey.
'He ran a marvellous race at Ripon last time and would probably have won if he'd got a clear run.'
Jockeys' championship leader Kevin Darley added two more to his tally with victories aboard Somers Heath and Bella Lambada.
