FACTS COULD BE OUT AGAIN SOON

Fiddling The Facts is reported to be none the worse for the incident on Saturday which led to her being pulled up behind The Last Fling in the De Vere Gold Cup at Haydock.

Having held a prominent position throughout, the mare went right through the ninth fence leaving Andrew Thornton to make a miraculous recovery.

But the blunder left her well out of touch and Thornton pulled his mount up soon afterwards.

At first, it seemed as if Fiddling The Facts might have done some damage such was the force with which she hit the fence but trainer Nicky Henderson could run his charge again as soon as this weekend.

"She is entered at Doncaster on Saturday and in two other races but it's too early to say where she will be going," he said.

"The good news is that she's absolutely fine and Andrew sensibly pulled her up quickly.

"It was most unlike her as she'd jumped beautifully up to that point but she's ready to run again when conditions are in her favour."

Another possible runner this weekend from the Seven Barrows yard is Easter Ross, owned by The Queen Mother, and entered in the Tote totalbet.com Novices' Chase at Newbury on Saturday.

He looked an exciting prospect on his jumping debut at Kempton and is a possible for the Cheltenham Festival next month.

Henderson added: "He's due to do a bit of work tomorrow then we'll know more but he must have good ground.

"If it's not right at Newbury, there is the Burnt Oak and Special Cargo race at Sandown next week or we could go straight for the Grand Annual."
