Prince Erik earned a shot at the Pertemps Final at Cheltenham after running out a cosy winner of the qualifier at Leopardstown today.
Robbie Power produced his mount to lead at the last and he went on for a cosy six-length success over Conclave
Trainer Dermot Weld revealed afterwards that the winner will be aimed at the series final at Cheltenham.
"He did it very well. He handled the ground and got a lovely ride from Robbie Power," said Weld.
"He's a bit of a character and Robbie got a proper tune out of him. He settled and jumped very well and had the race won from a fair bit out. Everything went his way."
It was a double on the day for Power after the earlier victory of Roberto Goldback in the Grade 2 MCR Novice Chase
