The Adrian Murray-trained Elegant Man made an impressive winning debut in the concluding ten furlong maiden at Dundalk.
The US-bred son of Arrogate, owned by AMO Racing, was well backed from 8/1 this morning into 5/2 and the market support proved well founded.
Mikey Sheehy produced his mount on the stand's rail to lead over a furlong from home and he asserted late on to record a two-and-a-half length win over 6/4 favourite Shrewsbury Road
Sheehy said: "He's a massive, big horse.
"It was a smart performance - I was drawn in 16 and, ideally, I would have liked to have been forward but there was a lot of pace on and a big rush to the first bend.
"I was able to take a nice slot beside the favourite the whole way around. I travelled well and I was eager to come to the stands' side rail and, once I got him over onto it, he kept quickening and quickening up to the line.
"I'd say you are going to see a better horse when he goes up in trip.
"He is a good mover for a big horse and probably loved the surface being by Arrogate. He has a really nice pedigree and hopefully a big future.
"Whatever he does this year, next year is going to be his year."
