Ebadan landed the odds in the Big Bad Bob Maiden to get off the mark at the fourth time of asking.

The Michael Halford-trained colt came into the race off the back of a couple of solid placed efforts and went to post a 4/6 shot.

Pat Smullen tracked the leader Prove The Point in the mile contest before hitting the front two furlongs out on the Aga Khan-owned three-year-old.

The son of Holy Roman Emperor stuck on well in the closing stages to prove a length-and-a-half too strong for A Shin Impala

“His form is rock solid and its always a good sign when the first three pull clear,” said Halford.

“For this time of the year I'd say it was a smart maiden. He's a lovely straight forward colt.

"He's an improver and every time you go to the tank there is something there. He will probably go to the (Goffs) February Sale. He's a good solid horse."
