Epsom Derby winner Sinndar has been installed 2 to 1 favourite with Cashmans of Cork for the Irish Derby on the first Sunday in July.
Orby, back in 1907, was the first 'Double Derby' winner and the Aga Khan has an extra financial incentive for hoping that Sinndar can emulate his previous Epsom winners Shergar, Shahrastani and Kayhasi by also delivering at the Curragh.
This year there is a Millennium $1 million bonus awaiting Sinndar. Sakhee, who did not give way to Sinndar until inside the final furlong on Saturday, is 5 to 2 to turn the tables while Holding Court is at 3 to 1.
Cashmans also quote 8 to 1 about Aidan O'Brien's Gallinule Stakes winner Glyndebourne and 12 to 1 against Dermot Weld's Grand Finale, the only horse to beat Sinndar.
As was the case with yesterday's evening's meeting at Ballinrobe, the second session has drawn more than 110 declared runners. Ta Dha Suil Agam was the subject of a medical casebook after being beaten over hurdles at Clonmel in the middle of April. His trainer has given him time to convalesce and he can beat Hands And Heels in a local sponsorship. Another beaten favourite on a retrieving mission is Sir Homo, although stable confidence did not look all that strong at Naas and he eased from 7 to 4 out to 5 to 2. Those involved were right to be cautious as he did not appear to get the trip behind Will Prattle.
He gets the nap over tonight's shorter distance and he could turn out to be the second leg of a training double for the Mullins brothers, Willie and Tony. In the preceding race, Rash Decision looks a prime ride for Charlie Swan.
