Enzeli could represent Ireland in next month`s Foster`s Melbourne Cup, it emerged today.
Running plans had been up in the air for last year`s Gold Cup winner, who finished only fifth in the Prix du Cadran at Longchamp last time out.
But trainer John Oxx left the five-year-old in at today`s second declaration stage for the Melbourne Cup, in which he has second top-weight of 9st.
Plans for Enzeli have yet to be finalised, although a decision is likely in the next few days.
Oxx explained: 'There is no decision yet although there may be one in 24 or 48 hours - he would have to fly out on Sunday.
'He`s well. He`s come out of his last race fine and he`s been in quarantine.'
As expected, the Martin Pipe-trained Far Cry (9st) and James Fanshawe`s Arctic Owl (8-13) were both declared for the November 7th contest.
Godolphin have left in All The Way (8-11), Mukhalif (8-8), Lightning Arrow (8-5), Timahs (8-5) and Evil Empire (8-1).
And French trainer John Hammond`s Mont Rocher (8-6) completes a nine-strong team of acceptors from Europe - the biggest overseas representation at the second declaration stage in recent years.
Those withdrawn today include David Elsworth`s Persian Punch and the Luca Cumani-trained Vicious Circle.
Far Cry heads local bookmaker Michael Eskander`s betting on 10-1, alongside Bart Cumming`s Oxford Dollar (7-13).
Arctic Owl is a 12-1 chance, the same price as John Hawkes`s Freemason (8-5).
Irish gelding Vintage Crop remains the only Northern hemisphere-trained horse to win Australia`s most famous race in 1993.
But no fewer than seven European challengers have finished in the first six in the last three runnings of the two-mile race, with Godolphin`s Central Park taking second place under Frankie Dettori last year.
