ENTHUSED WORTH GETTING EXCITED ABOUT

Enthused can cement her position as ante-post favourite for the Sagitta 1000 Guineas with victory in the Shadwell Stud Cheveley Park Stakes at Newmarket tomorrow.

Sir Michael Stoute`s filly has won three of her four starts and has been particularly impressive on her last two runs to earn a quote of 6-1 for the fillies` Classic.

The daughter of Seeking The Gold _ the sire of the brilliant Dubai Millennium _ produced a blistering turn of speed inside the final furlong to beat Autumnal by two and a half lengths at Ascot in July.

And she followed up in similar fashion in the Group Two Lowther Stakes at York last month when she once again showed an impressive change of gear to give 3lb and a length-and-a-half beating to Khulan.

Both Khulan and Autumnal take Enthused on again tomorrow but this time on level terms and there is a fair chance that Stoute`s juvenile will increase her advantage in the six-furlong Group One contest.

Enthused`s only reverse came when she finished a half-length second to Dora Carrington in the Cherry Hinton Stakes when she led well over a furlong out only to be caught close home.

Since that defeat Enthused has been produced late so do not expect to see her until the last minute tomorrow when she can utilise her powerful finishing kick to land the #75,400 first prize.

Eminence can initiate a big-race double for Stoute in the #400000 Tattersalls Houghton Stakes.

The son of Machiavellian has been placed in both his starts so far and judged on his one-and-a-quarter-length second to ante-post Sagitta 2000 Guineas favourite Hemingway at York he looks too good for the opposition in this valuable event.

John Gosden, who landed the two Group One races at Ascot last Saturday, clearly has his string in top form and the Manton trainer can strike again, albeit at a lower level, with Sharp Stepper in the NGK Spark Plugs Rated Stakes.

Sharp Stepper hit form at York last time out.

Having her first race for two months she travelled strongly until kicked into a decisive lead three furlongs out. However, approaching the distance her stride began to shorten and she just held on by half a length from Montalcino.

The runner-up that day has since run with distinction under a big weight at Ascot so the form looks pretty solid.

Sharp Stepper looks sure to improve for her Knavesmire run and can shrug off an 8lb rise in the ratings to take the afternoon`s Showcase handicap.
