Pat Eddery and George Duffield face the disciplinary committee of the Jockey Club tomorrow morning after being referred to Portman Square by the Sandown stewards on Saturday.
The jockeys were found guilty of using their whips with excessive frequency aboard Kalanisi and Giant's Causeway respectively in a titanic finish to the Coral-Eclipse Stakes.
If found guilty the jockeys could face 10-day suspensions under the automatic referral rule which applies to Group One races on the Flat.
A lengthy ban would prove a major blow to Eddery's jockeys' title aspirations, with the veteran rider leading the championship by five winners before start of racing today.
