Irish Racing received a significant injection of cash today as the IHA announced a #400,000 boost to prizemoney for the remainder of the Flat season in a joint initiative with the Irish European Breeders Fund.
The EBF are to increase their sponsorship by #200,000 for this year and the move has been matched by the IHA under it's Millennium Matching prizemoney initiative.
The move will see an increase in the value of virtually all Flat races, beginning with Gowran Park on September 14th and ending with the meeting at Leopardstown on November 12th.
'We are pleased to be in a position to generate this massive increase in prizemoney especially coming up to the sales period, and it will benefit the entire industry.' said EBF Chairman Harry McCalmont.
He added that the bulk of the contribution will go towards increasing two-year-old race values.
