EASTERBY MAINTAINS THE MOMENTUM

Trainer Tim Easterby carried on a good weekend`s work as My American Beauty secured victory in the first race staged at York on a Sunday.

The 6-1 chance came through powerfully to lead at the furlong pole and went on to defeat Wally McArthur by one and a quarter lengths in the York Swallow Hotel Nursery.

Easterby had also saddled the favourite Time To Remember but he dropped away after showing prominently for the first half of the race.

'I was going to take My American Beauty to Hamilton but I was worried about the ground there,' he said.

'She`s improved with each race and was helped with a decent draw here.

'I did think Time To Remember would run well as well but he`s run too freely.'

Easterby was in buoyant mood, having secured his first Group One prize with Pipalong`s triumph in yesterday`s Stanley Leisure Sprint Cup at Haydock.

'The filly is in good shape after the race. She certainly slept well last night,' reported the trainer.
