Kauto Grand Mogol a half-brother to the legendary Kauto Star, is pencilled in for a trip across the Irish Sea to the Cheltenham Festival.
The seven-year-old won two of his first three starts over hurdles and has had a wind operation since disappointing at Clonmel earlier this month.
"We could take Kauto Grand Mogol for one of the handicaps and the Coral (Cup) is the race I've got at the back of my mind," said his trainer Liz Doyle.
"He's had his palate done in the last couple of weeks and we'll just see how he is, see how his wind is and how he's taken the operation. I'd say he's probably 60-40 to go to Cheltenham at this stage.
"I think this might just be the year to take him as he isn't overly exposed and I think he might have more in hand than he might this time next year.
"We knew something was wrong after his last run as it was too bad to be true and the vets immediately said he needed his palate doing. There is a bit of a history of it in the family. I think Kauto Star might have been done a couple of times and he always wore a tongue-tie so hopefully it does the trick for our horse."
