The easy-to-back 11/4 favourite Distant Seas ran out a dominant winner of the Irish EBF Median Sires Series Maiden in the hands of Colin Keane.
The son of Sergei Prokofiev was runner-up in a course and distance maiden on Derby weekend before finishing unplaced at Naas.
He was prominent throughout on the near side rail in the six-furlong contest, led from halfway and was ridden clear over a furlong out to beat Agouti Bear by four-and-three-quarter lengths.
"It's nice to get him back on track. Soft ground at Naas was his undoing the last day,” said trainer Michael O'Callaghan.
“Colin said it was a lot more straightforward today. He just copped something at the furlong pole and had a look at it.
“I suppose being there in front on his own he's entitled to still be a bit green.
“Colin said he loved that ground and he thought he had plenty in hand at the line. He galloped out strong.
“He said if it was nice ground he wouldn't be afraid to run him in the Round Tower. We'll step him up now, he carried a lot of weight there today.
“He had a lovely run the first day and obviously we were a little bit disappointed after the second day but we've got the wheels back on the wagon now.”
