Philip Rothwell was cruelly denied a Fairyhouse double when his Rightback Atya came a cropper at the last in race three leaving Dinnie's Vinnie with the win. Shrewdoperator credited Rothwell with a nice success in the preceding two mile one furlong handicap chase, and thirty five minutes on Righback Atya's staying power looked to have won the day in the three mile one contest.
Rightback Atya had asserted from before the final fence under James O'Sullivan in the Bobbyjo Bistro Great Food Great Deals Handicap Chase.
However, when looking in control the Rothwell runner fell, leaving Dinnie's Vinnie and Luke Dempsey with the victory.
Dempsey's father Philip trains Dinnie's Vinnie for the TFC Syndicate, and he said on the half-brother to Dunguib: "We had a bit of luck today, we were caught on the line the last day but it went our way today.
"It was what it was. Luke said he wasn't done with but I'd day he was, looking at it. We've have a heap of seconds and the mare (Teacher's Pet) fell last week in front so it's grand to get back to winning ways."
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Pack Your Bags trained by Robert Tyner, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
