Third Dimension stormed home to run out a convincing winner of the Bank Of Ireland Handicap at Listowel. Hurricane Twister made a bold bid from the front in the seven-furlong contest but was collared passing the furlong pole by Third Dimension.

The Ger Lyons-trained gelding soon asserted under Colin Keane to record a two-and-a-half length victory. Bubbly Bellini stayed on best on the rest to claim second.

The 9/1 winner had made no impression when mid-division in the Irish Cambridgeshire last time but had proven a consistent sort previously.

"We've always thought an awful lot of him, since he was two, and he's a great work horse at home," revealed Shane Lyons, representing his brother.

"He was unlucky in the big race at Galway (fourth in Topaz Mile) when he got stopped by one of ours coming up the hill.

"After the two mils of rain that fell the ground is heavy but loose and we half fancied him.

"He's a gorgeous looking horse and we'd have been disappointed if he didn't do what he did today.

"He's probably one for the horses-in-training sale at Newmarket and he could be a nice dual purpose horse."
