Eleven horses have been declared for the feature race of the year at Down Royal, the Magners Ulster Derby, tomorrow afternoon.
The Tommy Carmody trained Royal Diamond will carry top weight of 9-12 and the 6yo will be well fancied to win the race after finishing a fine second to Midnight Soprano at the Curragh last time out.
The versatile Rattan will represent Willie Mullins and although he has been running under National Hunt rules of late he has plenty of form on the level.
Sam James will take the ride on the 7yo who finished a good sixth in the Ascot Stakes at Royal Ascot last year, just over seven lengths behind the winner Veiled.
Aidan O'Brien who won the race in 2009 with Changingoftheguard will be represented by Thomasgainsborough.
This 3yo colt has been disappointing so far this season failing to score on his three efforts to date.
The Jim Bolger trained Star Power is an interesting runner having his first start of 2012 as is Punchestown hurdle winner Shamiran for trainer Stephen Nolan.
The Sarah Dawson trained Clare Glen who finished fourth in the race last year will be bidding to go a few places better this time around while the versatile Gimli's Rock will also take his chance for Jessica Harrington.
Buy Back Bob, Mutasareb, Alhellal and Sadler’s Mark complete the line-up.
