Last year's winner Srucahan is one of three runners for trainer Paul Deegan in the Trinity Racing Society Handicap at the Curragh on Sunday.
Srucahan ran out a decisive winner of the six-furlong contest in 2013, but after a largely disappointing season afterwards, he returns to the Curragh a pound lower in the weights than 12 months ago.
Caprella appears feasibly handicapped on the pick of her form, while the less exposed English Deer makes his return to turf action having struck on the all-weather at Dundalk at the start of November.
Deegan said: "Srucahan is a pound lower than when winning this race last year, he's in good order and won't mind the ground.
"Caprella should handle conditions as well and English Deer is a very progressive horse who we like a lot. We think he could be quite smart this year, but if they get a lot more rain, he might not run on Sunday."
A field of 20 has been declared for the Elusive Pimpernel Maiden, with the powerhouse stables of Jim Bolger (Aerialist and Spring Focus), Dermot Weld (Bobby's Heart and Rousayan) and Aidan O'Brien (The Islander) all represented.
Mick Halford saddles the unraced Dark Alliance, and said: "He's a nice horse in the making, but he hasn't been away from home before. Hopefully he'll run a nice race, but like all of ours, I'm sure he'll benefit from the run."
Recently retired jockey Johnny Murtagh is honoured in the Johnny Murtagh Lifetime Achievement In Racing Madrid Handicap.
Murtagh, now concentrating on his training career, saddles a major contender in Calorie, with Weld's Cork scorer Go For Goal and the David Wachman-trained Sligo winner Pearl Earing also in the mix.
The Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden brings the fixture to a close, with O'Brien's pair Belisarius and Table Rock the two to have achieved most on the track so far.
However, Bolger's newcomer Answered and Weld's unraced Alkasser are worth keeping an eye on.
