Henry de Bromhead is certainly no stranger to blundering big prizes over jumps but he breaks new ground on the Flat at the Curragh on Sunday by saddling his first classic runner with Star Girls Aalmal in the Tattersalls Irish 1,000 Guineas.

The Elzaam half-sister to Royal Ascot winner Create Belief won a barrier trial at Dundalk and also landed a maiden on the polytrack last year before making an impressive return to action at Gowran Park last month.

She earned an official rating of 100 with that latest easy three lengths defeat of Prettiest over seven furlongs on a soft surface.

De Bromhead said, “It might be an ambitious plan but we said we’d give it a go and see how she gets on.

“She seems in really good form so we’re happy with her but we’ll find out plenty on Sunday. She seems good on any surface.”
