Dazzling Day showed terrrific battling qualities when getting the better of Queen Of Troy after a prolonged duel in the fillies maiden at Dundalk.
The pair fought it out in the final furlong with the Kevin Prendergast-trained combatant sticking her head out close home for a short-head verdict.
"She done it really well and is a very smart filly. She should stay further than seven furlongs," said winning jockey Chris Hayes afterwards.
"Had she not run at Galway she would have been a shorter price - she didn't handle the track there.
"She seems to have plenty of stamina and we'll see what the boss wants to do with her now."
