Daisy Bell takes opener for Prendergast/Hayes The Patrick Prendergast trained Daisy Bell made it fourth time lucky in the opening Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Maiden at Dundalk this evening, gaining a narrow win under Chris Hayes. The daughter of Dandy man raced prominently throughout and in the end edged out Knoxville Bullet by a head. Afterwards Prendergast stated “The experience helped her and I'd be scared of the second next time. “I bought her on the recommendation of Dave Kenna (Hayes' agent) and she arrived in typical of one of (Tracey) Collins', looking a millions dollars. “I thought she'd win the last day but she missed the break. She needs another furlong and is crying out for it. “It wasn't a bad maiden the last day but she just jumped a bit slow and the plan had been to ride her positively. “There isn't much here for her now; there are no stakes races and she'll probably end up too high for a nursery. I think she'll be a nice sprinter next year as she goes on any ground but she's still quite weak. She's a full-sister to Chiclet, who won for Tracey last month.” By Thomas Weekes, quotes from Gary Carson
