DURACK SET FOR DECEMBER RETURN

Seamus Durack is pinning his hopes on a comeback early next month as he looks forward to partnering the high-class chaser Flagship Uberalles.

Durack has been undergoing intensive physiotherapy as he recovers from a broken right leg. The damage sustained meant surgeons had to insert a plate in the leg.

'Things are looking much better and the leg feels good. I`m hopeful that I will be riding in December,' he said.

'It`s a big incentive to know that I will be riding Flagship Uberalles when Mick Fitzgerald isn`t available.'

Durack has been sorely missed by his one of his main employers Sue Smith since sustaining his injury in a fall from Lord Alexander at Worcester on September 9th.

Last season he struck up a fruitful partnership with the Smith-trained The Last Fling.

But without Durack on his back, The Last Fling has been most disappointing in the current campaign.

'I did seem to click with him last season and it would be good to ride him again this year,' said the jockey.

'But there are plenty of reasons to get back and with Mick Fitzgerald likely to be unavailable over the Christmas period I might have the opportunity to ride Flagship Uberalles in the King George.'
