DURACK ITCHING TO RETURN

Seamus Durack enjoyed a day out at Cheltenham today as he continues his recovery from a broken leg sustained at the start of last month.

The English-based jumps jockey sustained his injury in a fall from the Stan Moore-trained Lord Alexander at Worcester and had a plate inserted into his right leg during subsequent surgery at the Princess Margaret Hospital in Swindon.

Durack does not expect to be able to return to action until December at the earliest.

'It happened just over six weeks now,' he told the Racing Channel.

'I had an X-ray on Monday and I`ve another one in four weeks` time so hopefully I`ll have some good news then.

'It was unusual because I didn`t feel much pain at the time but I had to stay in hospital for two weeks.

'I go to the gym nearly every day and try and keep as fit as I can but it`s just a case of waiting.'
