DUNLOP HOPING FOR A RIGHT SHOWER

The guessing-game over Right Wing's participation in the Worthington Lincoln continued after the final declaration stage today.

John Dunlop left last year's winner in the race, in which he will be bidding to become the first horse to land back-to-back victories since 1958.

But fears remain that the going will be too firm at Doncaster for the soft-ground specialist, who may be pulled out unless underfoot conditions ease.

Dunlop's racing secretary Marcus Hosgood said: "Right Wing has been declared to run in the Lincoln but he will only run if there is significant rain.

"Pat Eddery will ride him if he runs."

Right Wing is set to top the handicap for the Lincoln with 9st 10lb, a 5lb rise from the five-day stage. Had he not have been declared the weights would have risen by a further 4lb.
